Terms of use

The Council is an online service published by EICA. It lets you assemble a council of three to five voices, put a real situation in front of them, and receive an exchange, then a decision. The advisors are artificial-intelligence systems built from the writings of the people they are named after.

By using The Council, you accept these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

Your first two full sessions are free. The free allowance is granted once per account and does not refill. Beyond that, Member ($15 / month, five sessions a month), Plus ($28 / month, five times Member, including seminars with one advisor), or Patron ($78 / month, twenty times Member, first 200 names on the wall) is required, at the prices shown on the site. A “session” is an estimate based on the length of your sittings; a long sitting counts for more than a short one. Paid allowances refill on the first of each month and unused sessions do not carry over. Pay yearly and take 20% off. Patron members appear by display name on the public wall. Subscriptions are billed by Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record. You can cancel at any time; access continues until the end of the paid period.

The Council may change, suspend, or interrupt the service.

An account is required to keep a session. A short trial is possible without one. You are responsible for the information associated with the account and for how it is used.

The Council is not therapy, legal advice, medical advice, or a substitute for a friend, a lawyer, a doctor, or any qualified professional. Replies have no contractual value. You remain solely responsible for the decisions you take.

If your situation is an emergency, serious distress, or a matter that needs a professional, speak to someone qualified.

You keep your rights in what you write or say in a session. If you speak, the recording is turned into text and then discarded. Only the text is kept, as if you had typed it. Sessions are private and encrypted at rest, keyed to your account. Nobody reads them. They are not published, sold, or used to train a model. The model provider sees a turn only to produce the reply. You may switch on a thirty-day review of a sitting so The Council can improve the room; that is off unless you choose it.

You agree not to use the service to harm others, break the law, or attempt to compromise the working of The Council.

The Council is provided as is. EICA cannot be held liable for decisions taken from a session, or for indirect damage arising from use of the service.

These terms may be updated. The date at the top of the page is the one that counts. Continued use after a change counts as acceptance.

These terms are governed by French law. If a dispute cannot be settled amicably, the French courts have jurisdiction.
